To every Corvette enthusiast, 2003 was meant to mark a milestone for the beloved Corvettes they cherish. As with every automotive producer, it was expected of General Motors to grab the wheel and make big plans for the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette. Sadly, this was not the strategy for GM. No plans for an extraordinary anniversary car were in the works, no spectacular unveiling, not anything. While this milestone was approaching, Advanced Automotive Technologies of Rochester Hills, Michigan had plans up their sleeve for a truly unique anniversary car. The plan was to present the car to GM for consideration for production. Unfortunately it was not in the GM plan of strategy and this opportunity did not occur.

Due to the excitement leading up to presenting the car to GM, A.A.T. decided to still produce the commemorative cars by modifying Corvettes provided by the owners. Thus, the 1953 Commemorative Corvette came to be. Based on a Corvette C5 car that the owner provides, A.A.T. would construct new body panels that attach where the factory panels did, and cut a small recess in the rear fiberglass to fit the new decklid. Besides looks, the Corvette is still modern, the style of 1953 with the luxury of a new car!

This Corvette is a 1999 C5 Convertible sporting its factory LS-1 V-8. Finished in silver with custom interior accents trimmed in alligator, this Commemorative Corvette is sure to stand out. Also added to the interior of this Corvette is a special dash including upgraded audio/DVD/CD player and GPS. Upgrades to the outside include C5 drilled and slotted rotors and later model C5 chrome wheels.
