When Porsche re-introduced the exclusive 911 R in 2016, a lucky few experienced what many had desired for years: a street oriented 911 developed by the motorsport division utilizing components from the company’s top-tier GT models, but without an obtrusive rear wing typical of track-focused offerings. With the immense demand built up from the 911 R, Porsche capitalized on the opportunity to bring this idea into full series production with the 911 GT3 Touring in 2017. Now in its second generation, built on the 992 platform, the latest 911 GT3 Touring retains the same engine as the previous iteration but gained a double-wishbone front suspension similar to the setup used in the RSR racecar.
