With the arrival of the MGA Roadster in 1955, several MG aficionados were taken aback by the fact that the prewar look of the company's sports cars had been tampered with. Instead, they were greeted with a streamlined, aerodynamic body that was right up-to-the-minute in terms of styling and design.

Back seat drivers, goodbye! The MGA was deliberately designed for a carefree twosome to slip into snug bucket seats, take the helm, give it the gun, flash through teeming traffic and head for their favorite wide open spaces - alone. This is the sports car for a guy and a gal who dare to get away with an MG, knowing that everyone is watching enviously. The MGA is one of the four exciting members of the famous British Motor Corporation along with the MG Midget, the Austin-Healey 3000 Mk. II and the Spriteā€¦. mighty fast company all.

This 1959 MGA 1500 series was donated to the AACA Museum in 2011 and has been in and out of display ever since. It runs and drives well and the drivetrain seems to be in very good shape also. It was restored several years ago and the paint is showing some wear in selected areas. The interior is very nice, as is the canvas top. The top is also tight and fits snugly.

Among the features are wire wheels with knock-off hubs, wide whitewall tires and dual rearview mirrors.

The vehicle is reported to run and drive well, but since it has been part of a static collection for the past few years, the buyer is advised that it may require some degree of re-commissioning before placing it into regular service.
