What is the difference between restomod and restoration? Traditionally, automotive restoration essentially refers to taking a collector car and bringing it back to life utilizing as much as possible of the correct factory parts. The process involves repair of the visible parts (e.g., body trim, interior, etc.), as well as the parts not easily seen (e.g., electrical, suspension, brakes, etc.). The anticipated result is a beautifully preserved automobile in factory-new condition with authentic parts – just like it came off the showroom floor decades ago. The term, restomod (restoration + modern parts/technology) draws from all the amazing advancements in automobile technology over recent years to enhance the performance, comfort and safety of the collector car. A restomod, ideally, has the timeless appearance of the original, but the mechanical bits have been replaced with the more modern and reliable parts of today. The vintage appearance is retained, but the vintage car will now have a safer, more powerful and more comfortable ride for the owner.

“Restomod" 1946-1948 Lincolns are something seldom seen, but makes great sense considering the large proportions and elegant design. This Lincoln is now powered by a Cadillac 429-cid V-8 with a 400 Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and has a limited slip rear end. It has been further enhanced with such amenities as modern climate control, power windows, power brakes and steering with tilt/telescopic wheel. The mint green exterior is in very nice shape overall and the darker green leather interior exhibits like a fresh restrain. Less than 2,500 miles have been clocked since this car was completed and is now ready for many more.
