While the 1938 Ford Standard models were built with 1937 front sheet metal, DeLuxe models received new, updated front-end styling. A new heart-shaped grille flowed over the crown of the fender catwalks with delicate finned side-vents. DeLuxe models also benefited from the addition of dual windshield wipers, a banjo steering wheel, a vanity mirror in the sun visor, and a locking glove-compartment door with a factory clock. This lovely example joined the collection a decade ago. It was then, and is now, a very complete coupe with great accessories and nice paint over a smooth body. The flathead engine shows signs of use but remains correct. In addition to the DeLuxe features, this example has a factory radio and accessory fog lamps. The trim and small components all appear above par with little attention needed, and all that view it will be drawn to this attractive ’38 Ford.
