One of the all-time American classics, the Auburn Boattail Speedster has remained sought after from its inception, thanks to its rakish styling and a 100-mph guarantee. With demand outstripping supply, the need for replicas soon gave birth to several companies willing to offer complete cars and kits to customers looking to get behind the wheel of these fantastic machines. One such firm, Speedster Motorcars, built this example.

Based in Florida, the company’s foundation rests on the immense experience founder Michael Atkins built up over several decades of constructing replica Auburns. Ultimately, his dream to create a modernized Boattail Speedster of his own came to fruition in the early 2000s. Featuring a reliable 5.7-liter Chevrolet LS1 engine, these replicas offer power brakes, power steering, and an automatic transmission for a refined driving experience. Other modern amenities include air conditioning, a CD player, and power seats.

The exterior is finished in two-tone black and silver, while a set of mirrors, dual cowl lights, and plenty of chrome trim complete the 1930s look. The car features a black soft-top and rides on chromed wire wheels shod with modern whitewall tires. Inside, the black leather seats are complimented by matching leather door cards. The turned metal dash houses a bevy of gauges measuring, speed, rpm, volts, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. When purchased by the current owner in 2016 just under 200 miles were logged on the odometer, according to a bill of sale on file. Over the past half decade, the vehicle has been sparingly driven, with less than 850 miles showing on the odometer as of cataloguing time.

A faithful recreation of a 1930s classic, the Speedster Motorcars Auburn Speedster Replica features everything an enthusiast desires: the incredible style and curb appeal of a Thirties classic, with modern performance, reliability, and amenities.
