In honour of its 70th anniversary in 2017, Ferrari identified 70 of its most important classic creations that would serve as inspiration for a new series of Tailor Made special examples to be built across the manufacturer’s five models. These tributes would feature heritage liveries, while being specified with highly desirable amenities and trim elements. Making them the ultimate collectibles, each would gain Ferrari Classiche certification and interior plaques reading “1/1”.

The featured 70th Anniversary ‘Tailor Made’ 488 Spider is finished in heritage livery no.30, officially dubbed “The Masterpiece”. The design pays homage to the colour combination worn by chassis number 2335 GT, a beautiful 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta once owned by Eric Clapton.

The car offered here was completed in March 2018 and delivered via Garage Zénith of Sion, Switzerland to the first and only private owner. As reflected by a letter on file from Garage Zénith to the purchaser, a local collector, the 488 was specified with adaptive headlamps, adjustable front suspension, navigation, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and adjustable electric seats. Further desirable options include brake callipers painted in Rosso Corsa, carbon fibre door sills, Scuderia shields, Cavallino-embroidered headrests, a Rosso tachometer, and a leather headliner.

To commemorate the 70th anniversary, the car was elegantly finished by Tailor Made in Grigio Scuro Metallizzato paint with Red Mic racing stripes over a special interior upholstered in Heritage Bordeaux leather, which has been deliberately stressed to emulate a soft and gently worn patina. Further nods to the heritage livery include interior aluminium trim pieces painted in complementary Grigio Scuro Metallizzato and wheels finished in Argento Nurburgring.

The original Swiss owner retained possession of the exquisite Ferrari for over seven years before selling it to a highly respected specialist dealer in July 2025. The car is therefore effectively a one-owner example, and its life of mild driving use is reflected in an incredibly low odometer figure of just 3,879 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.

Documented with a Ferrari Classiche “Grey Book” authenticating the presence of all the major matching-numbers components, as well as a special certificate of authenticity titled “Attestation for Vehicles with Special Equipment”, this breathtaking one-of-one 70th Anniversary special would crown any collection of modern Ferraris or late-model supercars. As its livery name so aptly intones, the car is quite simply “The Masterpiece”.
