The convertible counterpart to the hyper grand tourer designed by the great Gordon Murray, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster was confined to a modest production run of circa only 520 examples. Sharing the coupé’s 5.4-litre supercharged V-8 engine that directly inhales through the integrated Three-Pointed Star bonnet emblem, a mighty 617 horsepower is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.

The SLR McLaren Roadster offered here was built for the North American market, wearing Pure Black paintwork and fitted with a Grey folding fabric roof. Opening the butterfly doors reveals a Black and Anthracite Exclusive leather interior featuring carbon fibre-style trim and contrast stitching in 300SL Red thread. Further specification highlights include the extra-large driver and passenger seats with the SLR logo embossed into the headrests, red callipers for the carbon brakes, and the model’s signature nine-hole, 19-inch turbine wheels.

This car was ordered new to Canada, with delivery completed in September 2008. The SLR Roadster was then sold via Ferrari Maserati Quebec and exported to Haaltert in Belgium. At the time of the transaction in April 2014, the Mercedes-Benz was recorded with 7,754 kilometres. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer was noted at 16,350 kilometres.
