With the introduction of the retro-inspired Ford Mustangs in 2005 and Hertz’s “Fun Collection” of exciting rental cars, it was only natural that the pair of companies would team up once again to create a modern interpretation of the iconic 1966 Shelby GT350 H. The 2006 Shelby GT-H bears the same black and gold color scheme as its forefather, yet it features a host of performance upgrades, which give the Mustang more power and improved handling over the standard Mustang GT. The car proved to be an instant hit, and with only 500 produced, the GT-H was in high demand both when in use as a rental car and after they left Hertz’s fleet.
This GT-H was purchased by Sam Pack shortly after it was retired from rental duty in April 2007, and it is truly a wonderful example of the breed. This iconic Shelby “rent-a-racer,” with just over 10,400 miles on its odometer, would certainly be a good place to be in for a wonderful warm-weather drive on your way to eat up the tarmac.
