The first variation of the fastback Barracuda is based on the Valiant platform, carried the Valiant emblem at the base of the rear window and is called the Plymouth Valiant Barracuda. This example is presented in Dark Turquoise Metallic with a complementary light blue interior. The engine is the optional 273-cid, 180-hp V-8 that is coupled to the optional floor-mounted automatic transmission with short console. The rear window was the largest glass area in the industry at the time of release and provides a large cargo area with a fold-down rear seat. Other accessories found on the Barracuda are a radio, tachometer and simulated bolt-on sport wheel covers.
