This Lincoln is powered by a 460-cid, V-8 engine coupled to a three-speed automatic transmission. The odometer registers merely 13,402 miles. The interior was the most luxurious that had ever been installed in a Lincoln automobile and is appointed in the same fashion. A power sunroof, crystal-like Lincoln star hood ornament, cast-alloy wheels, vinyl landau top and inscribed opera windows are a few of the prominent visual cues that demonstrate this car is something special.

Ford Motor Company celebrated its 75th year in the automobile business in 1978. To commemorate this milestone, Ford produced two special automobiles as limited editions. The 1978 Continental Mark V was one example; the Thunderbird was the other. The Mark V version was limited to the production of only 5,159 cars. The car was available in only two colors: Diamond Blue, as seen on this Mark V and Jubilee Gold. The color was used as the connecting theme throughout the presentation of the car.
