One of the rarer Land Rover models, this 3.5-litre petrol V-8 engined 110 V8 County is one of only three such examples sold new to Finland. Sold new in late 1986 through the official Land Rover dealer Autorep, its first owner was a Mr. Kukkonen from Helsinki. It has remained in Finland ever since with only a handful of owners who insured it was well looked after from day one. Today, its odometer shows that it has been driven 187,000 km from new.
Still retaining its original interior according to the consignor, the car received some mechanical and cosmetic work between 2017 and 2020 to ensure that it remained in good condition and well-prepared for further use. In addition to a repaint in its original Slate Grey with County stripes, the car’s engine has been refurbished with a new camshaft, hydraulic lifters, timing chain, sprockets and a new water pump. The carburetors were refurbished and adjusted and a new exhaust system was fitted, along with a new alternator and battery.
According to the consignor, the car presents beautifully and is said to be in excellent running condition. Furthermore, the consignor states that there are not any rust issues present due to previous rust-proofing, a known issue of Land Rovers of this age. This rare and collectable Land Rover has provided reliable and practical transport for its previous owners and thanks to its ever-increasing popularity, it would be a welcome sight to anyone on the open road.
