From the reported 98 examples of the Sebring Series II built, the example offered here holds the distinction of having been displayed at the 1967 Barcelona Motor Show. Maserati data records that it was finished in dark metallic Verde Bosco over a Senape tan leather interior.
Completed on 17 March 1967, the car was imported to Spain and road-registered in August. Its long-term tenure in the country culminated in a 30-year stint as part of a collection, spanning the mid-1980s through to February 2015. At that point, chassis number AM101/S 10589 was bought by the vendor in Austria to join their stable of 1960s and 1970s Maseratis.
Boasting its matching-numbers 3.7-litre straight-six engine and what is believed to be the original interior, this Sebring Series II has been refinished in metallic bronze. It would make for an ideal candidate for a full restoration, back to its factory colour scheme, ahead of indulging a new owner in the pleasure of classic Italian grand touring.
