In 1974, Porsche followed up its legendary 911 Carrera RS with an updated range-topping model: the Carrera 2.7 MFI. Sold exclusively in Europe, it featured the 210 PS 2.7-litre type 911/83 engine from the Carrera RS wrapped in updated G-series bodywork, with new impact bumpers, revised lighting, flatter rear wings, and a new interior. It would be among the first production models offered with the iconic “whale tail” rear spoiler. Porsche produced 1,633 examples of the 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI Coupé from 1974 to 1976.

The example offered here is one of 509 Coupés produced for 1975. It was delivered new to Hahn Automobile in Fellbach, Germany in February, according to a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file. The document confirms its original colour scheme of Salmon Metallic over Black artificial leather and factory options of tinted windows, antenna, dashboard speaker, two rear speakers, five-speed gearbox, and black headliner.

The Porsche was imported to Portugal in 1981. In 2012, a subsequent owner had the car comprehensively refurbished by a noted marque specialist in the country. The car was fully stripped and refinished in white and had new leather upholstery installed in the factory-correct colour of black. The car then passed to its next owner, who had it changed back to the original shade of Salmon Metallic. Today, the 911 presents beautifully, replete with its distinctive “whale tail” rear spoiler and matching-numbers engine. Recent maintenance includes replacing the tyres and refreshing the gearbox synchromesh. Invoices for this work are included in the accompanying history file, along with other records documenting the car’s restoration and upkeep. Also included is a spare colour-matched earlier “duck tail” spoiler—available on 1974 models—along with a copy of the Porsche certificate and registration documents.
