Since Pagani Automobili released its first car in 1998, there have been only three production models to emerge from the mind of enigmatic founder Horacio Pagani—the Zonda, the Huayra, and the Utopia. The world takes notice of each new variant, transfixed by their intoxicating blend of cutting-edge materials, traditional craftsmanship, advanced technology, and obsessive attention to detail, all wrapped in remarkable styling that manages to be both purposeful and extravagant.

The Huayra was the long-awaited successor to the Pagani Zonda. Named after a Quechua wind god, the Huayra debuted in January 2011 looking like something from another galaxy. Its unearthly appearance concealed the company’s first application of active aerodynamics: A complex series of flaps in the lightweight composite bodywork, controlled by the ABS and ECU systems, varied the degree of downforce instantaneously, keeping the car planted and stable, whether approaching 220 mph or negotiating a decreasing-radius turn.

An AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged V-12 engine hand-built in Germany specifically for Pagani by master engine builder Michael Kübler sent over 700 horsepower to the rear wheels through a transverse seven-speed, single-clutch sequential gearbox, chosen for its remarkably low weight. The initial gullwing-door coupe garnered resounding praise, and it was perhaps inevitable that an open version would follow. The Huayra Roadster debuted in 2017 after several years of development. What emerged was a notably different car.

Power still came from a 6.0-liter twin-turbo AMG V-12, but with output dialed up to 754 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The bodywork incorporated a removable roof panel and conventional doors, while a revised carbon-titanium monocoque helped shed mass without sacrificing rigidity. Though convertibles usually pay a weight penalty, the Huayra Roadster is actually 70 kilograms lighter than its hardtop counterpart—proof of Pagani’s obsession with making each variant a genuine, progressive evolution of the core model on which it is based.

In total, Pagani produced only 100 Huayra Roadsters from 2017 to 2022, with another 40 track-focused Roadster BC variants built from 2019 to 2022, and followed by eight Imola Roadsters. Pagani will, however, churn out one-off bespoke models for its elite clientele from time to time, of which just 13 such examples have been commissioned thus far. Of these, fewer than half have been fitted with an Xtrac seven-speed manual transaxle to satisfy purists. The fitment of a manual gearbox required a unique chassis tub engineered to accommodate the transmission, further setting these special cars apart from the standard production Roadsters.

Offered here is an example of this extremely limited special variant. Named the “Executor” after one of Darth Vader’s notorious Star Destroyer spaceships in the Star Wars saga, this remarkable one-off roadster was commissioned by its original owner through prestigious Southern California ultra-luxury dealer O’Gara Coach. The exterior is finished in stunning Vibrant Ink Indaco Blu, exposing the carbon fiber, with Bianco Malta and Azzurro custom stripes. Unique aerodynamic elements include a deeper front spoiler, canards on the front bumper, a large rear wing, and sculptural air inlet perched above the roof. Satin-finished lightweight forged wheels complete the aggressive yet refined presentation.

Output of this roadster’s 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 exceeds even that of the track-only Huayra R, rated at a lofty 846 horsepower and 774 pound-feet of torque—all the more thrilling to experience through the gratifying mechanical engagement of the Xtrac manual gearbox.

Amid the numerous exposed titanium and carbon fiber elements, the centerpiece of Malevic and Ossido leather interior is the gear shifter, its components fully exposed like gleaming metallic art beneath the titanium shifter gate. In addition to the rigid transparent roof panel, a soft top is included, along with a set of matching custom luggage.

Any Pagani Huayra is a rare sight, whether on the street or the auction block. Showing just 53 miles at cataloguing time, this bespoke Roadster, one of an exclusive few fitted with a manual transmission, truly is the result of a singular vision.
