An all-around improvement on the Williams FW14 that ran in the 1991 Formula 1 season, the successor FW14B’s reliable active ride system unlocked far greater cornering speeds. Nigel Mansell used his upper body strength to maximize those gains, offsetting a lack of power steering to score 14 pole positions and nine wins from 16 rounds to romp to the 1992 Formula 1 World Championship.

Presented here is a 75% scale FW14B officially licensed by Williams. Carbon fiber bodywork wears the instantly recognizable period livery and features Mansell’s famous “Red 5” numbering. At all four corners of the monocoque is suspension that mimics single-seater racecar set-ups, hydraulic disc brakes, and slick tires. Power comes from a 1000-watt lithium battery and 48-volt motor configuration to achieve a 40-mph top speed, while a suede seat and three-point race harness make this miniature Grand Prix car suitable for drivers aged 5 to 15. Measuring three meters, or nearly 10 feet, in length, the exquisitely finished example offered is chassis 01. It is the first of this model ever offered for sale and would be a delightful addition to any motorsports-focused collection.
