By the 21st century, Aston Martin and Zagato’s partnership was as strong as ever, with iterations of the DB7, Vanquish, V12 Vantage, and DBS drawing widespread acclaim. So it was hardly a surprise when, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como, Aston Martin took the wraps off its latest Vanquish Zagato in 2016. The following year, Aston Martin chose the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as the stage for the Vanquish Zagato Volante’s global debut. Presented alongside the production Vanquish Zagato coupe, the drop-top Volante shares the bladed rear-end treatment and other styling cues that link it to the Vulcan supercar, while the wing mirrors draw from the One-77 supercar.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante offered here, the 80th of just 99 examples delivered worldwide, is being offered as new with mere delivery mileage (having been driven fewer than 20 miles at time of cataloguing). The Zagato Volante is finished in the bespoke Aston Martin Q division color of Iridescent Emerald over an Obsidian Black and Parliament Green leather interior. Furthermore, the car features over $70,000 of optional extras, including upgraded alarm with volumetric and tilt sensor; contemporary Alcantara; auto-dimming mirror with garage opener; black textured tail pipe; and extensive use of satin green-tinted carbon fiber throughout.

Last not but least, this exceptional example is equipped with the coveted Villa d’Este package, which features the badges, wheel spokes, and side strakes finished in gold—a touch carried through to the dashboard vents, center console switchgear, and steering wheel.

Rare even among Aston Martin’s already-exclusive standard production models, this well-optioned Vanquish Zagato Volante blends British performance and engineering with masterful Italian design, successfully evoking the iconic DB4GT Zagato while also creating a masterful new icon of the marque.
