The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG launched the era of modern Mercedes-Benz super cars as the first model developed exclusively by Mercedes-Benz in-house tuner AMG. It would debut in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, initially in “gullwing” coupe specification, as a modern-day homage to the iconic Mercedes 300 SL.
