The Tesla Roadster forever changed the automotive world when it launched in 2008. At that time, it became the first street-legal, all-electric car to utilize lithium-ion batteries. This technology allowed the Roadster to travel more than 200 miles on a single charge, a truly impressive figure for the time. Equally impressive were its performance and driving dynamics, thanks in part to its nimble, lightweight chassis borrowed from the Lotus Elise.

Upon initial release, the Roadster was powered by a 185 kW (248 hp) proprietary electric drivetrain capable of 0-60 mph in less than four seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. While early cars were equipped with a two-speed transmission, it was replaced by a Borg Warner single-speed gearbox, beginning in September 2008. An upgraded electric motor was introduced in 2009 with a modest power increase, bringing the car up to 215 kW (288 hp). In total, Tesla built approximately 2,450 Roadsters from 2008 to 2012, with subtle improvements implemented throughout production.

Finished in a timeless color combination of Radiant Red Metallic over Beige leather, this pampered 2010 Tesla Roadster benefits from having only one owner and being driven less than 6,400 from new. Making it even more desirable, it was upgraded in April 2022 with Tesla’s R80 3.0 battery pack at a Tesla dealership in Torrance, California at a cost of more than $30,000. When new, this system increases the vehicle’s range to 340 miles.

When purchasing the car new, the owner specified more than $11,500 in options, including metallic paint, custom, premium leather interior, JVC stereo navigation system with iPhone/iPod connectivity, and Tesla Paint Armor clear protective film. Standard features included heated sport seats with adjustable lumbar support, split, five-spoke, alloy wheels, and a removable soft-top. Included in the sale is a ClipperCreek TS-70 wall charger, 240- and 120-volt charging cables, and the soft-top.

With extremely low mileage, single ownership from new, numerous factory options, and the upgraded R80 3.0 battery pack, this is a superb example of what is sure to become one of the most iconic sports cars of the 21st century.
