First-half 20th century, a possible later casting, by Fortunate Gory (Gori) (Italian, 1895-1925). Patinated bronze, Carrara marble, on a marble plinth, inscribed A. Gori on the base, cast in two parts, with detachable marble head and limbs. Patina lacks richness, quality lacking, connecting device altered, elements loose, plinth addition. 23x39x15 inches.

&cf. Fortunato Gori revised both his sir name and proper name soon after his arrival in Paris from his native home in Florence. He is recorded as having exhibited at The Salon des Artistes in 1902, 1904, 1912, 1914 and 1923.
