The company was founded in 1919, by Gordon Francis (whose father, Graham Francis, was co-founder of Lea-Francis) and Arthur Barnet . Affectionately known as the Fanny B, Francis-Barnett specialized in making economical and lightweight roadsters. They moved into the former Excelsior works in Coventry when that company moved to Birmingham. In 1947 the F-B company became part of AMC which acquired James in 1952 and in 1962 F-B production was moved to the James factory. Production of Francis-Barnett motorcycles ceased in October 1966. The "Light Cruiser" offered is finished in traditional factory correct white and green paint.Originally from the Netherlands.It is Powered by an AMC 175cc Two Stroke engine coupled to a four speed transmission.Weighing in at a mere 247 pounds these full shirted machines found favour with both female and male riders. They proved to be easy to handle and provided daily transportation to many. Offered with no Reserve
