Lightburn made its name as a maker of cement mixers and washing machines but attempted to establish itself as a car manufacturer with the launch of the Zeta. These microcars were offered in saloon and pick-up truck body styles, or the more rakish Sports roadster.
Just 363 vehicles were produced in total, only 28 of which were the Sports model. All were built in 1961 but, strangely, weren’t sold until three years later. This delightful red example, complete with a black folding roof, was first registered in September 1964 before joining the ranks of The Bruce Wiener Microcar Museum in Georgia, United States.
Acquired by the vendor in February 2013 and imported into Belgium, this Zeta Sports is bound to draw more attention and curious glances than any modern supercar.
