David Piper is one of Britain’s greatest privateer racing drivers and team owners. His sportscars instantly recognisable, courtesy of their distinctive green liveries. Friend to Enzo Ferrari and supported by British Petroleum, he proved especially effective in South Africa. Piper claimed six outright wins in the 9 Hours of Kyalami—including sharing his Ferrari 365 P2 with Richard Attwood to claim victory in 1965.

When Ferrari marked its 70th anniversary in 2017, it was that particular feat which inspired the creation of ‘The Green Jewel’. The sole F12berlinetta—the final series-production Ferrari model to be styled in collaboration with Pininfarina—finished in this specification, the car offered here was realised through the Tailor Made programme.

It wears Verde Metalizzato paintwork and features Bianco Avus motorsport-style roundels, matte gold wheels, and airbrushed Scuderia shields. Inside, the driver’s seat was trimmed in red Siamo leather and Black hide chosen for the passenger seat. The centres incorporate vertical pleating to recall Ferrari GT cars of past. The carpets comprise weather-resistant Apollo Bright technical fabric, while aluminium trim contrasts the carbon fibre details.

Driven very sparingly from new, the F12berlinetta displayed a mere 442 miles at the time of cataloguing. Configured in right-hand-drive form, it was delivered new to the United Kingdom in June 2016 via official marque dealership Dick Lovett in Swindon.

Despite the incredibly low use, it boasts an impeccable service history. Evidenced by seven stamps in the accompanying service book, it was maintained annually by the Graypaul franchise between 2018 and 2024. For the two most recent services, performed in July 2025 and August 2026, the work was entrusted to marque specialist Keys Motorsport Silverstone.

‘The Green Jewel’ is supplied with the fitting registration number “F12 JWL”, a copy of the purchase invoice, tools, battery conditioner, and indoor car cover. Most significantly, the history file includes handwritten notes and signed photographs from Piper himself.

Arguably the most famous of all Ferrari 70th Anniversary Tailor Made liveries, this F12berlinetta—‘The Green Jewel’—pays tribute to a true pioneering motorsport hero in Piper and his relationship with Enzo Ferrari. Ahead of the Prancing Horse’s rapidly approaching 80th anniversary, it would make for a sterling addition to any Maranello-themed collection.
