“Ebby" Ebblewhite became one of the most famous figures associated with both motor racing and pioneering flying meetings in this country. He was permanent time keeper and handicapper at Brooklands from its inception in 1907 until the closure of the circuit in 1939. This historic two-handled cup, 15 cm high with matching lid, are both hallmarked London 1913 by William Comyns & Sons. This renowned firm of silversmiths was established in 1859 and Comyns silverware was distributed to the world’s finest retailers, including Tiffany & Co London.
