Available to order from February 2002, the GT-R V-Spec II Nür and M-Spec Nür marked the curtain call for the legendary R34 Skyline. Named for the track that had lent so much to the pair of cars’ development—the Nürburgring—both editions were limited to a collective 1,000 units. Having established the Skyline as a Japanese domestic market (JDM) legend, production ended in August 2002, with 718 V-Spec II and 285 M-Spec examples built.

Each model was powered by an enhanced version of Nissan’s 2,568 cc “N1” race engine, which featured performance upgrades including uprated block, con-rods, pistons, and turbochargers,. Those engines destined for the V-Spec II were fitted with covers painted in Silica Breath. The V-Spec II was further distinguished by a carbon fibre bonnet that contributed to a 20-kilogram weight saving over the M-Spec version, as well as a colour exclusive to the model: Millennium Jade Metallic.

This R34 GT-R is the 675th V-Spec II Nür to be manufactured. Completed in July 2002, it was one of 156 cars finished in Millennium Jade Metallic over a complementary black interior. First registered in July 2002, the service book notes an inspection in August 2002 and service stamps in December 2002, July 2003 and August 2004. A Nissan service sticker indicates the most recent oil change took place at 58,592 kilometres.

The current owner acquired this Skyline from Japan in February 2017, before exporting the car to Hong Kong. It presents today in unmodified condition, save for an aftermarket car phone kit, and at time of cataloguing the odometer reads 61,234 kilometres. The car is accompanied by a jack, owner’s manual, service books, space-saver spare wheel, and wheel brace. Please note, having been stored for several years, this vehicle will require servicing prior to road use. Please contact an RM Sotheby’s representative for further information.

As the swansong of the R34 generation GT-R, the V-Spec II Nür represents one of the most technologically advanced and desirable variants of Skyline. This well-preserved example is a must-own for any serious collector of Japanese performance cars.
