• Great colours of Grigio Titanio over Bordeaux red leather

• Recent 50,000 mile service

• Gorgeous design with Daytona heritage

Introduced in 1996, the new 550 Maranello was a gran turismo clearly intended to fill the shoes of the legendary Daytona. Although based on the longer 456, whose engine it shared, it was distinctly upmarket. Despite strictly being a two-seater, the 550 Maranello offered a spacious and luxuriously appointed interior. There was plenty of room for luggage, including a full set of golf clubs.

Its rear-mounted six-speed manual transaxle gave better weight distribution as well as improving traction for the traditional front-engine, rear-drive chassis. The result was most satisfying, achieving a top speed of 323 km/h and a dramatic 4.5 second sprint from 0-100 km/h.

This left-hand drive example is finished Grigio Titanio metallic coachwork with Bordeaux red leather interior, steering wheel and carpets. Originally delivered new to Switzerland, a recent inspection reveals this attractive Ferrari to be in original condition. The paint is good all around, with one or two very minor imperfections, and the interior is almost as new and has aged extremely well with hardly any signs of wear. Current mileage stands at around 52,000 kms, and the car is understood to have received a 50,000-mile service recently. The engine bay is clean with all original decals and manufacturer’s plates present and correct. The 550 Maranello is arguably one of the prettiest Ferraris ever produced, and with its classic 12-cylinder front engine and transaxle arrangement, it is a highly rewarding driver’s car.
