Double-sided;Original;42x42x13 inches. This stunning die-cut star once blazed from the pinnacle of one of America's most important and recognizable signs. The "Great Sign", from which this neon is believed to originate, was designed in 1952 by the Cummings Company of Nashville to be the landmark for a fledgling motel chain called The Holiday Inn. A wonderful piece of Americana. Surface is shiny and free of notable flaws. A few small instances of inpainting can be detected at edges and corners. Corrected areas are unobtrusive and present well. Mounting holes show minimal chipping.
