Designed by Gérard Ducarouge, the 99T was used by the Lotus Honda team throughout the 1987 season. That year, Lotus took eight podiums with Ayrton Senna and Satoru Nakajima behind the wheel. The season was highlighted by Senna’s victories at the Montreal and Detroit grands prix, with the latter being the final GP victory for the team.
