Please note this car was incorrectly stated as "believed to be an original car" in the auction catalog. It has received a frame-on restoration. It is also being sold title in transit

For most of its first 15 years, Mercury was a Ford-based, medium-priced car with a longer wheelbase. However, for 1955 it was given a personality of its own. The new Mercury was longer, lower, and wider than its predecessor, and it featured a bold grille-bumper assembly and vestigial rear fender contours with bright trim. Mechanically, it had a 292 cubic inch version of the Y-Block, overhead-valve V-8, ball-joint independent front suspension, and a live rear axle on leaf springs.

This Mercury Montclair benefits from a frame-on restoration. It is, of course, powered by a 292-cid V-8 engine that is producing 198-hp. The exterior is finished in red and white paint work with fender skirts; and equipped with full wheel covers and whitewall tires. The interior is finished in matching colors of red over white and features an AM radio.
