The year 1985 marked the introduction of the upgraded Ferrari 328. A slightly larger engine was introduced changing the name from 308 to 328. The engine, also used in the Mondial of similar vintage, was a 260-hp 3,185-cc V-8 producing 213 lb/ft. of torque. The new motor was created by widening the bore .2 mm and stretching the stroke 2.6 mm. It was fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection and Marelli electronic ignition which adopted the new Multiplex technology. Wheelbase grew to 92.5 inches (just .4 inch larger than previous). Bumpers were now body colored and more smoothly integrated than previous. At the rear, the same was true of the rear lights and tailpipes. Ferrari’s signature flat five-spoke alloy wheels were made convex to accommodate anti-lock brakes which became optional in 1988.

The 328 GTB was first introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Auto Salon alongside the upgraded Mondial 3.2 series. Like its predecessor, a GTS version was offered with a removable targa roof. 7,400 328’s were built including 6,068 GTS’s before it was replaced by the 348 in 1989.

This car was purchased new by the consigner and has been driven a little more than 1,200 kilometers. As such, it remains in virtually new condition. The Giallo Fly exterior contrasts nicely with the black leather interior and features include air conditioning, power windows, and a five-speed manual transmission. The jack, tool roll, and spare tire are as new.
