Marketed as being able to get more interior spaciousness with additional head room, seating room and leg room that could be matched by only America’s most expensive cars; the Nash Custom Statesman has a Scena-Ramic wrap around windshield and luggage space galore for comfortable journeys in a design that pushed the boundaries of continental style.
The Nash is powered by its 195.6-cid, 100-hp inline six-cylinder engine that is backed by a column-shift three-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive. The mileage is stated as being 52,000 actual from new, and this Series 40 is presented in Palomino Brown and Snowberry White two-tone finish. The interior is primarily blue cloth and presented in very nice condition, as is the rest of the car. Among the factory features there is a hood ornament, oil-bath air cleaner, Weather-Eye heater, radio delete, clock delete, distinctive trim components, hubcaps and whitewall tires. The car also carries an aftermarket evaporative air cooler, more commonly known as a “swamp cooler” to assist the occupants with comfort and an even more pleasing driving experience.
