In 1936 Ford built its three millionth V-8 engine only two weeks after it delivered its three millionth truck. The Phaeton is considered among the best looking of Ford’s 1936 offerings owing its styling to designer Bob Gregorie and Henry Ford’s son Edsel. At a price of $590 new, it was quite the style setter at a bargain price. Benefiting from a complete frame-off restoration ten years ago, it is powered by the customary flathead V-8 and three-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with a luggage rack, its original radio, and toolbox. Just 5,555 were built for the model year adding to their desirability today.
