With a fine blending of sportiness with luxury, the 1960 Ford Thunderbird invites four lucky passengers to enjoy the drive in panoramic elegance. The car being offered has only 13,767 actual miles and is finished in Moroccan Ivory complemented by a two-tone blue interior with bucket seats, center console and attractive Ford gauges displayed in a very modern (for 1960) dash arrangement. The Thunderbird is powered by a 352-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine that is linked to an automatic transmission. Other features include AM radio, power steering, power brakes and fender skirts. The wheels appropriately display factory hubcaps and whitewall tires.

Conceived in 1956, the second-generation Thunderbird was released in January 1958. Markedly different and much larger in its overall proportions than its predecessor, the four-seat 1958-1960 “Square Bird” emphasized luxury over sportiness. After three successful years of competing with the Corvette for sales, Ford correctly understood that far more American buyers were interested in buying a sporty-looking luxury car rather than a full-bore sports car. The motoring press felt the same way, and in 1958, the Thunderbird won the coveted Motor Trend Car of the Year award. Stylistically, the 1960 Thunderbird was little changed from the two prior model years, with the addition of a new grille, triple taillight clusters and minor trim changes.
