This nicely presented Series 3800 pickup truck reflects General Motors' first major redesign post-World War II, the Advance Design series of vehicle was billed as a bigger, stronger and sleeker design. The Advanced Design styling and engineering changes occurred with the 1954 models. These models featured an attractive one-piece windshield, all-new grille, new parking lights, new steering wheel and instrument panel.

Engineering advancements included the new, standard 235.5-cid, 112-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine that had 200 ft./lbs. of torque. This particular 3800 has a floor-mounted manual transmission. Chevrolet pickups were number one in sales during every year of the Advanced Design Era – the big pickups were worked so hard due to great durability, many did not survive.

This example has a two-tone paint scheme, finished wood bed and side-slats, side-mounted spare tire and windshield sunvisor.
