Dodge produced the Sweptside pickups for only a short time and in limited numbers. From 1957 to 59 they were available on any of the pickup truck models and with any equipment desired. By taking the regular pickup bed and narrowing it, they were able to add the panels with the fins. This was not done on a regular assembly line but by hand in a special equipment area within the plant.
While exact numbers aren't certain, it is agreed by all that they were and remain a rarely encountered vehicle, some suggest that as few as 60 examples are known to remain. This particular Sweptside has been the recipient of a complete frame-off restoration in which no expense was spared. The vehicle is powered by the uncommon 326-cid Power Pack with factory four-barrel carburetor and three-speed.
