By 1970 the Chevelle was among the front runners in the muscle car world. Beginning its production life in 1964 as a bit of a “sleeper,” it was transformed over a few years into a street car to be reckoned with. From its introduction this model was a market-leading success story, thanks to attractive styling, an extensive options list, and sheer value for the dollar. For 1970, Chevelle was restyled, the result has been arguably called the boldest looking, mid-sized muscle Chevrolet ever. The LS6 Chevelle is well balanced in handling, braking and comfort, but the LS6 454-cid engine is best remembered for brute force and acceleration: a classic design, in many ways, at core of the muscle car movement.

The 1970 Chevelle on offer is an AACA National First Prize Junior and Senior Winner and it shows. This example is finished in Autumn Gold with black stripes and black interior. The engine is a factory LS6 454-cid with 450-hp. This car is highly optioned with the following list of items: Muncie shifter, four-speed manual transmission, console, AM/FM radio, bucket seats, seatbelts, power brakes, steering, cowl-induction hood, and a black vinyl roof. The ground-up restoration expertly applied to this car is immaculate and is proven as such by the AACA first prizes it has received.
