The Continental Mk II was a two-door personal luxury car with European flair that showed a new direction for Ford Motor Co. Standard equipment included power steering, brakes, windows and antenna and automatic transmission. The lone option offered was air conditioning, such as this car has. The Mk II was one of the most expensive automobiles in the world when new; it retailed for $10,000, or about $80,000 in today’s dollars. Restored in 1996 – along with a powertrain rebuild – it remains as distinctive and classy as when new.
