- Desirably equipped with exclusive Competition Package, as well as Pillion Rider Package and heated grips
The 2014 BMW HP4 is the fourth model in BMW’s High Performance line and was billed as the lightest four-cylinder supersport bike in the 1,000-cubic-centimeter class at the time of its unveiling, with an output of 193 horsepower and a weight of only 373 pounds dry.
Based on the vaunted S 1000 RR race bike, the HP4 adopted innovations from its competition-focused sibling to help make the most of its prodigious power-to-weight ratio. Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) automatically adapts the stiffness of the upside-down fork and spring strut to road conditions, while Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) both feature a “Slick” setting optimized for racing slicks with parameters developed directly from competition in the International German Motorcycle Championship. With its carefully considered setup and multiple advancements, the HP4 is ready for either dynamic riding on backroads or track use without any need for modification.
This example, acquired new by the Dare to Dream Collection from BMW of Manhattan, New York, is notable for being equipped from the factory with the exclusive Competition Package carbon-fiber bodywork, adjustable footrest system, folding brake and clutch levers, and wheels finished in Racing Blue metallic. It was also equipped with the Pillion Rider Package and heated grips.
Sparingly ridden, with an odometer displaying just 46 miles at cataloguing, and immaculately maintained, it is now offered with factory manuals, its original purchase document, and certificate of origin.
