The original Mustang turned 50 on April 17, 2014. This car, too, has its birthday this summer, just before sale date. Assembled on July 25, 1964 it is one of the informally-named “1964-1/2” cars, and has retained most of those attributes, including the D-Code 220-hp Challenger four-barrel 289-cid V-8. The transmission is Ford’s three-speed Cruise-O-Matic. Some appearance upgrades have been made, including GT stripes and emblems, driving lights, Cobra valve covers and a High Performance air cleaner. Other equipment includes air conditioning, a day-night mirror and seatbelts.

Body contours are excellent, and the red paint is very good, as is the brightwork. The seats are black vinyl with matching carpet. The black convertible top has a matching vinyl boot cover. Sport wheels carry BFGoodrich Radial T/A whitewalls.
