The Ghibli 4.7-liter Coupe was Maserati’s answer to the public’s desire for a more affordable Italian grand touring car. In total only 1,149 were built from 1966-1973, making them very rare and desirable cars within the production run. Being a small boutique manufacturer, Maserati sourced the Ghibli’s tubular chassis with other cars in the company’s repertoire, including the Quattroporte sedan and the Mexico coupé. However, it had a gorgeous body all its own. The beautiful lines were penned by Giorgio Giugiaro, then chief designer at Ghia.

This particular Ghibli 4.7 Coupe was restored just a few years ago under direction of the present owner at a skilled Southern California restoration facility. During the restoration the owner took some small liberties with the car, including painting the air box and fitting the car with Maserati Indy wheels. Since completion, the enthusiast owner has used the car very sparingly, but has ensured its maintenance is completely up-to-date.
