Velocity Restorations of Cantonment, Florida, specializes in rebuilding vintage Ford Broncos from the ground up, creating what it calls “Re-engineered Classics,” with updated chassis systems, powertrains, and luxurious custom interiors featuring modern amenities.
This Ford Bronco started life as one of the less common “half cab” Bronco variants produced for 1968. It previously received the full Velocity treatment and is now finished in orange with the company’s Ranger Series package, which features period-inspired Wimbledon White accent stripes, bumpers, front grille, four-point roll cage, and 17-inch steel wheels with 31-inch Cooper Evolution tires.
Velocity thoroughly reengineered the chassis with a proprietary frame, a 2.5-inch T-Rex Arms suspension lift kit, a one-inch body lift kit, front coil springs and Bilstein shocks, Wilwood disc brakes, and a Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 crate motor, providing a massive increase in horsepower compared to the stock engine. It exhales through a custom exhaust system and sends power through a Ford 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay and underbody are fully coated in protective black Rino liner.
Retractable power steps aid ingress and egress and disappear behind the rocker panels to preserve the clean, period look. The interior features high-back bucket front seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in durable, attractive marine-grade brown vinyl with contrasting inserts in a woven bamboo material. The floor and transmission tunnel are lined in a matching, durable woven material, while the dash is finished in Wimbledon White. Behind the wood steering wheel is a Dakota Digital instrument cluster that combines retro gauges with a discrete digital display, showing just under 1,280 miles on the odometer at cataloguing time. A period-look RetroSound head unit incorporates Bluetooth capability, while a Tuffy lockable center console features dual cupholders, USB charging ports, and a padded, upholstered armrest.
Comprehensively transformed to deliver improved drivability and long-term enjoyment, this Velocity Restorations first-generation Bronco blends heritage style with upgraded underpinnings and modern amenities. Scarcely driven since its thorough makeover, it would the perfect summer vehicle at a beach house or a fun desert sled to enjoy on the dunes.
