Following the end of World War II Nash refocused its efforts toward production of affordable compact cars. Nash released their new wind tunnel developed Airflyte design in 1949. The cars were aerodynamic and featured a unibody construction which Nash claimed was stronger, safer and eliminated body noise. Nineteen fifty saw the introduction of the Rambler. Period brochures state the Rambler was capable of up to 30 miles to the gallon at highway speed. The first generation Rambler ran through 1952.

This Nash Rambler Airflyte Custom Convertible is offered in what appears to be Nash’s Harvard Maroon, with a new white pinpoint convertible top. The back of the car is furnished with a continental kit. This Nash Rambler Airflyte Custom Convertible is powered by a six-cylinder engine with a column-shift manual transmission. The car rides on whitewall tires with brilliant Nash script wheel covers. The interior of the car features cloth seats with an AM radio, clock and a heater. This is a very rare example of a power convertible top option.
