The Series KA, Special Deluxe was Chevrolet’s new-for-1940 top-priced line and a fancier edition of the Master Deluxe. Among the distinguishing characteristics were stainless steel moldings that trimmed the hood and beltline with Special Deluxe lettering positioned at the rear hood trim area before the cowl. Additionally, the Special Deluxe had standard equipment that included a 30-hour clock, front door armrests, right-hand windshield wiper and a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring.

The Chevrolet is driven by a 216.5-cid, 85-hp inline six-cylinder engine that is connected to a column-shift three-speed manual transmission. Among the other highlights are bumper guards, grille guard, radio, turn signals, foglights, dual exterior mirrors, plus whitewall tires and correct pinstripes on painted steel wheels with Chevrolet center caps and trim rings. The tan paint is reported as older with a tidy complementary brown-tone interior with plaid seat accents. It is still quite nice and presentable with very nice chrome trim elements.
