By 1968 the Impala Super Sport had been reduced back to being simply an Impala model option as opposed to being a separate model with its own VIN designation. Accordingly, the SS 427 was also just another model option for the standard Impala. Unlike 1967, for 1968 the “SS 427” was a stand-alone option that could be had on the Sport Coupe, Convertible and the new-for-1968 Custom Coupe. Documented original 427 cars are exceedingly valuable. A great alternative to a rare and expensive original SS 427 car is this very well-crafted tribute. It is finished in light blue with a black bench seat vinyl interior, it is an attractive performer. Equipped with a big-block engine, it has an automatic transmission with column selector, factory tachometer, accessory underdash gauges, AM radio, power steering and power brakes. The engine bay is nicely detailed for driving and impressing local show goers. Similarly, the undercarriage and other hidden areas have been treated to a good cleaning and attention to detail. With true documented SS 427 Impalas bringing top dollar, this lovely re-creation can easily be enjoyed without worries.
