This is a classic hot rod that was carefully preserved by a previous owner for half a century. A few years ago it was professionally restored to show quality condition and it has been carefully preserved since. Power is supplied by Henry's stalwart flathead V-8 with Edelbrock heads, an Offenhauser intake manifold with three Stromberg 97 carbs and a period accessory bee hive oil filter. A Mallory distributor and high-output coil provide the sparks. It drives through a Borg-Warner T10 four-speed transmission and has tube shocks on live axles with transverse leaf springs. Brakes are one of early rodders' favorites, finned aluminum drums from a '58 Buick. Based on a '31 Model A frame and roadster body, it has steel wheels with trim rings and hubcaps, whitewall tires, a folding windshield and is attractively and distinctively finished in deep Black Cherry over bright red leather upholstery. The interior appointments are notable including a Stanley Steamer four-spoke steering wheel, Auburn V-12 dash, Pierce-Arrow clock and a Duesenberg tachometer. A full hood, cut out for the Stromberg stacks, and hood sides fit behind the Deuce radiator shell, although the engine is so pretty and neat it's unlikely they will get used very often. This is classic hot rodding at its best, built in the 50s, carefully preserved, meticulously restored and maintained.
