In addition, the 1949 Mercury featured an instrument panel designed specifically for the drivers’ focus, newly engineered front suspension utilizing coil springs, the 255.4-cid Ford “law enforcement and pursuit” V-8 engine rated at 110-hp, three-speed transmission with Touch-O-Matic overdrive, electric clock and trunk light. This original 1949 Mercury is finished in Midland Maroon.
