This is a very rare body style-less than 5,000 were made. It differs from the more common cabriolet as it has a back seat and a trunk instead of a rumble seat. This car spent most of its life in Texas and was registered there until at least 1970. In around 1940, it had a 1940 engine installed and was repainted (the original dark blue is still evident). At this tim, it had the ultra-rare, Pines front grill/hood trim kit installed. Other than that, it is basically all original (with the exception of a later vinyl top). The cars has its original interior, original door panels, original carpets, original trunk liner and mat, etc. The windshield has a 1970 Texas registration sticker and original fraternity decal. The side windows are original Ford 1936 date-coded and work well and are not cracked but are discolored. The mileage indicated is 32K which is likely to be original. The body, doors, hood, fenders have never been seperated. There is any sign of rust anywhere in the body, fenders, frame or floor. The dash board has all of its original gauges. It has an accessory radio, heater, tandem wiper assembly, metal tire cover, bumper guards, dual taillamps, banjo steering wheel, etc. The car also has its ORIGINAL top boot, the rear portion of the original top material, original tool pouch, a jack and a few original tools. The car has all the rare hard to find parts including the correct wiper motor, glove box clock, etc. The car has recently been serviced and runs and drives great. The engine idles smooth, runs quiet, does not smoke, and makes good power. The clutch is smooth, the tranmission shifts quietly and smoothly. The rear end is quiet. The original mechanical brakes work great and stop the car square and the steering is tight and responsive. The lights and horn work. This car is ready to use and enjoy the way it is. It is too nice to restore.
