Nineteen fifty-nine was the last year of the Ford Skyliner, the company’s world-famous retractable hardtop, and relatively few were produced under the Galaxie name, introduced in the middle of the model year. The example offered here is an older frame-off restoration in its original color of Colonial White, and has numerous accessories, including a “continental kit” spare; it records 55,000 miles, believed to be original by the owner. Under the hood is the potent 300-hp 352 V-8 and Cruise-O-Matic transmission, ideal for motoring in smooth and powerful style. Undoubtedly it is one of the few automobiles in the collection that could, for sheer impact, match an Edsel!
