Built for the Spanish market, this 500 SEC was delivered new to a woman residing on the Canary Islands. Originally finished in White over a black leather interior, it was equipped with a number of features including an electric sunroof, cruise control, and heated seats. According to the consignor, she sent the car directly to Gemballa where it received a handful of cosmetic upgrades. These included a body kit, a repaint in pearl white and interior retrim in white leather, fitting a Gemballa steering wheel, Gemballa gauge cluster, as well as a refrigerator in the centre console. However, there is no documentation on file to prove these upgrades were carried out by Gemballa.

The car has remained in Spain ever since and today is showing just under 164,700 km on its odometer at the time of cataloging. It should also be noted that the car is fitted with Lorinzer wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tyres, adding to the car’s overall visual panache. Considered today to be one of the most desirable cars produced by Mercedes-Benz in the 1980’s, the 500 SEC has a strong following of loyal enthusiasts enamored with the car’s power, performance and comfort. With a handful of cosmetic upgrades, this example would fit right in on the roads of Saint-Tropez or Miami Beach.
