The Maserati That Changed the Game: The MC12

Towards the end of the 20th century, Maserati was having a tough time.

Enough that Fiat parted with half of its share in the company, giving it to Ferrari, who eventually took full control. It would be Ferrari’s hand that would help Maserati turn the corner. The car that changed everything: The Maserati MC12. This halo car, built with the beauty and brawn of Ferrari backing, would put Maserati on a new level, not only as a carmaker, but as a competitor (having surpassed Ferrari in the FIA GT Manufacturer’s Cup by almost double the points). This example, owned initially by Maserati, is one of 50 examples, with only 6,700 km from new. Among one of the earliest MC12s made by chassis number, it is a prized example of what would be a pivotal point in the history of Maserati.
